It is believed
that the whole universe, in its fundamental form, is
made up of vibrating,
pulsating
energy.
OM
is considered as the humming sound of this cosmic
energy. OM
is said to be the original primordial creative sound
from which the
entire universe manifested.
Om Namah Shivaya
is known as the
great redeeming mantra.
It means "I
bow to you Lord Shiva" .
Shiva is the supreme reality, the inner Self.
It is the name given to consciousness that
dwells in all. Shiva is the name of
our true identity - our Self.
According to Hindu mythology there are
three Gods who run this creation.
Brahma - who
creates the universe,
Vishnu -
who preserves the Universe and
Shiva- who in
the end destroys the universe.
Among the three deities, Shiva, though considered
as destroyer, also symbolizes the inner
Self
which remains intact even after everything
ends.
