In the yogic tradition, the root cause of most, if not all,
diseases…including stress… is seen as the RESTLESSNESS in the
mind…
The mind is in conflict…The mind is not at peace…
The mind is
out of alignment with the body…
The mind, like a
little monkey, jumps into the past
or into the future…very
rarely being still…
The mind resists
what is happening in the NOW…
And most of this
restlessness is based on FEAR…
“Each one of you,
when you are born, contracts a fatal disease. It is fear…You die
every moment you choose fear…There has always been a simple cure for
fear- the choosing of self-love.”

What is in our mind creates all our experiences: health
or sickness,
happiness or despair, abundance or poverty…
If our life
experiences do not reflect harmony…
if we want to
change our lives…it must begins in the mind…We must change our
thoughts…
We must change
our actions arising from our thoughts…
Thoughts hold the Power of Creation…
This is a simple
truth known by all the great
sages through all
the ages…
Patanjali, one of
these sages, stated clearly
in his first Yoga
Sutras:
“Now, instruction in Union. Union is restraining the thought-streams
natural to the mind.”
Said in a
different way:
“Yoga is the stilling of the thought-waves.”

The question is HOW…how do we calm the
thought-waves? How do we
bring the body and
the head to BE present in the moment…
to BE present in the now? One answer…
Our BREATH…
“With inhalation,
you are born again into this moment of Now…One can be in paradise by
simply saying
“yes” to this moment.”
Emmanuel’s BookII
Our breath
is the easiest and simplest solution…
the most
functional and most fundamental
tool to transform our stress!
Our
breath is the mirror of our mind…
NO external life
changes such as taking a vacation, working out at the gym, watching
a good movie, dining out, changing job, etc…can provide a permanent
solution to our stress level…only an internal change can do the
work…
The practice of
BREATHING & BEING…
is the solution!
Mind is the
master of the senses, and the breath
is the master of
the mind”
Hatha Yoga Pradipika IV:29
Here is a
statement from one of the oldest sacred
texts in
existence giving us the Secret!
Once we are more
and more conscious of our breathing patterns and once we allow more
and more the natural breathing rhythm to be re-established …the mind
automatically quiets down and gets aligned with the body…Then we can
operate from our center…the heart!
“When you are
centered in the heart,
fear has no power
at all.”
